Laughter Clubs in
TIME Magazine
TIME
coverage of LAUGHTER YOGA outlining that there
are ways to reap physical and psychological
benefits of laughter that are now subject of
serious scientific study, but Dr. Kataria, has
practiced them for ten years now through 1,800
clubs in India, and 700-800 around the world
from Finland to the Philippines.
Every year there is a celebration
of a Kataria-inspired holiday called World
Laughter Day, in first Sunday of May.

What Does a Laughter Club
Look Like?
A
Laughter Club is
non-political, non-religious, non-explotive,
non-perfectionistic, and does not require
everyone to participate in all the exercises. It
can meet for about 30-minutes, weekly,
bi-weekly, or monthly.
A Laughter Club
flows through these basic program
componants:
-
Attendees stand and sit
in a circle, with the Certified Laughter Leader
in the middle. They will welcome and give an
introduction to the process.
-
Simply breathing and
stretching exercises.
-
Laughing exercises (3 to
8, depending on time frame and group
comfortability level).
-
Announcements and
conclusion.
